The Casa Grande Union High School District board on July 14 adopted its fiscal year 2026 maintenance and operations (M&O) expenditure budget using the preliminary state budget forms released July 1 by the Arizona Auditor General’s Office.
District finance staff told the board the district used the preliminary forms so the adopted document would match the version presented at the district’s June proposal. Veronica Price, a district finance staff member, said the preliminary forms do not include the eventual increase to base-level funding or the per-route-mileage state support amounts that will appear on the final forms and that the district will submit a September revision once FY25 carryover amounts are finalized.
Price told the board that the only changes between the proposed and adopted packet are administrative cover-page items (the adoption date and file name) and that no calculations or other data were altered in adopting the budget using the preliminary forms. The board opened a public hearing on the budget; no members of the public spoke during the hearing.
A motion to adopt the fiscal year 2026 M&O expenditure budget as presented was made and seconded and the board approved the motion. The transcript records the motion, second and roll call but does not provide full roll-call names or a detailed vote tally in the record excerpt. The district will upload the adopted forms to the state and complete a revision in September to reflect finalized carryover and state-calculated amounts.
The adoption clears the district’s immediate budgeting step for FY26; staff emphasized the procedural need to file the preliminary forms now and update them when final state and carryover figures are available.
