Developers get continuance to address outreach on MU district phasing text amendment

The Planning Commission continued a proposed text amendment to Section 4.17 (mixed‑use district phasing) to its Aug. 11 meeting after the applicant asked for more time to conduct neighbor outreach.
Staff explained the amendment would change phasing requirements in the MU district; the commission had discussed the proposal at a June 16 meeting and received public testimony. Applicant representatives said they planned a neighborhood meeting on July 23 and sought time to gather feedback before returning.
Commissioners asked the applicant to summarize outreach plans; the applicant said they expected to meet neighbors July 23 at Dela Plains and return with revised materials. No public speakers opposed the continuance and the commission approved the continuance unanimously.
The item will return on Aug. 11 with additional outreach materials and any revisions the applicant makes in response to comments.
