Board members asked about treatment on athletic fields and playgrounds; staff said licensed vendors will treat turf and playground zones using methods appropriate for areas frequented by children and that fire-ant control often requires targeted bait placement to reach the underground queen rather than spray only on the surface.
The motion to approve the contract was made and carried. A board member recorded the vote as "All in favor" and the motion was adopted.
