The applicant asked to advance to the board's meeting on the 26th (referred to in the transcript as "the 20 sixth") if the Planning Commission took action on Aug. 6. Staff said it supported the suspension, that there was no county cost burden, and that public notice requirements would still be met.
Supervisor Lane asked for clarification about the calendar and confirmed the Planning Commission date. Supervisor Chad (reported on the transcript as Miss Chad) and others expressed support for moving the item forward on the requested timeline.
The board voted 6-0 to suspend the 25-day policy for R23-15 so the rezoning could advance to the board hearing as requested, assuming the Planning Commission acts at its August hearing.
The suspension vote does not grant final approval of R23-15; it only allows the rezoning to be scheduled sooner than the standard interval would permit. Staff noted the advancement is contingent on the Planning Commission taking an action at its August meeting.
