Eagle Landing Park: electrical and irrigation work done; AED partnership moving through legal review

Staff told the Parks and Recreation Commission on July 11 that electrical service at Eagle Landing Park is completed, irrigation systems are being tested, and contractors have removed weeds from the fields; a July construction completion target had been affected by recent weather.
Tiffany, who provided the update, said the developer holds construction responsibility and the city will assume maintenance for most items after completion, with certain items covered by HTX under an agreement that grants that organization priority rental use. "It will be, the city will be largely maintaining it except certain items that have been agreed upon with HTX," Tiffany said. She added that the natural turf has not been established yet but grading and electrical work are done.
On AED placement, staff described a partnership under negotiation with the fire department for outdoor ZAP AEDs. Tiffany said the fire department’s legal review has completed and the city is reviewing a proposed agreement that may need city council approval. Staff said they identified a conduit run that could be installed before sidewalks are poured to reduce later retrofit costs and identified likely AED locations to minimize future installation work.
Why it matters: completed electrical service and early conduit work reduce later installation costs for safety equipment and park operations; the AED partnership will require additional legal or council action before deployment.
Staff said a grand‑opening date for Eagle Landing has not been set while construction and weather impacts continue.
