Summary
At its July 11 Board of Review session, Waukesha officials approved requests allowing several property owners to testify by telephone or to bypass the Board and appeal assessments directly to circuit court. The board also approved a few withdrawals and handled procedural scheduling.
The Waukesha City Board of Review on July 11 approved a series of administrative requests allowing property owners to appear by telephone and granting waivers enabling appeals to proceed directly to the circuit court.
The action followed the board’s procedural review of requests filed under several case numbers. The board voted to approve telephonic appearance requests for Highland South Limited (ID 25-01560) and Locklard Waukesha Holdings (ID 205-151568), among others. It also granted waivers permitting property owners such as Sunset Apartments (ID 205-151596) and multiple Riverwalk Apartments addresses (IDs 25-01612, 25-01620, 25-01641, 25-01633, 25-01649) to appeal directly to the circuit court rather than proceed through a Board hearing.
Board Chair and members conducted roll-call votes on each request. The telephonic and waiver motions were routinely seconded and carried by unanimous voice or roll-call votes.
The board also noted several withdrawn matters, including three River's Edge filings and a request for an appeal waiver from LCM Funds (ID 205-01665). The clerk indicated scheduling changes for some hearings and that notices of Board determinations will be mailed to affected parties.
The approvals affect how and where affected property owners may pursue their objections: telephone appearances preserve hearing access remotely, while waivers to circuit court move disputes into the judicial process. The board’s clerk said parties will be notified by mail of next steps and any new hearing dates.
