The district's Business Services director updated the board on year-end financial processes, capital projects and recent facilities work.
Director Mr. Bacombe said auditors will be on-site the week of July 21 to support fiscal year-end closing. He reported that 154 additional lockers were installed at the middle school so every student will have a locker; remaining work includes counter installation. A final walkthrough of the stadium is scheduled to verify repairs of water intrusion before the project is closed out.
Design work is underway for baseball and softball improvements that include scoreboards, batting cages, backstops and safety netting for spectators and dugouts. Mr. Bacombe said staff are awaiting a response from the architecture firm RDG on the transportation-building design following earlier board conversation.
"We are working on the baseball and softball project design now for the baseball field, softball baseball scoreboard, softball batting cages, the backstop of the baseball, and then safety netting," Bacombe said.
He also noted ongoing payroll and year-end items as staff prepare for the new fiscal year. Board members asked clarifying questions about schedules and outstanding items; no formal action was taken during the update.
