The board agreed that scoring systems historically varied among reviewers and that consistency within each reviewer mattered; several trustees nevertheless favored clearer published weighting and release of the blank rubric used to score applicants.
Trustees discussed timing and logistics for future cycles, including an earlier announcement window (possibly January) to give schools time to include awards in their schedules and to align with college decision deadlines. The board agreed to reform a scholarship subcommittee to handle outreach, rubric revisions and initial application intake; the subcommittee will include at least two trustees and the outgoing scholarship lead, with specific membership to be finalized at a future meeting.
The board also confirmed that trustees' individual scoring sheets have been kept private in past years and that only the results of trustee votes are made public; trustees noted the possibility that scoring sheets could be requested under public records rules and said they would document current practice.
The meeting concluded with trustees thanking Reinker for accepting the chair role and with procedural notes about scheduling future meetings and subcommittee work.
