County approves $43,906 paving for Cherokee Country Club Road; generators for wells to be installed

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on July 10 approved accepting a quote from ASAP Paving LLC not to exceed $43,906, to repair Cherokee Country Club Road. Funds will come from the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST) account.
Director Seymour told commissioners the road had fallen into "pretty significant disrepair" and recommended using T-SPLOST funds for the patching work. The motion to accept the quote carried by voice vote.
During the same discussion the chairman updated the board that four generators previously approved for water well systems (voted in a prior meeting) have arrived and that contractor installation was expected to begin the following week, likely starting in the Savannah Bay area. Commissioners said installations will restore power for four well systems used by residents during outages and thanked staff for the procurement and deployment efforts.
The paving and generator work will be scheduled with the vendor and county public-works staff to finalize timing and permit needs.
