Votes at a glance: Assembly passes Head Start joint resolution, concurs on bills and adopts consent calendar

The bill, with minor technical amendments, would allow retailers to absorb mattress recycling fees instead of passing them to consumers. Clerk tally on concurrence: I 63, Noes 0.
- ACR 96: Assemblymember Rogers presented a concurrent resolution to designate a portion of U.S. 101 in Humboldt County as the Assemblymember Patty Berg Memorial Highway. The resolution passed on roll call, I 71, Noes 0. Coauthors added: 70.
- SCR 50: Adopted by voice vote; coauthors added: 54. (See separate coverage of substance.)
- Second-day consent calendar: Adopted I 71, Noes 0. Two items had been removed from the consent calendar earlier in the day: File item 78 (ACR 71) and file item 86 (SB 864). At the request of the author, SB 864 was moved to the inactive file.
Procedural notes: multiple bills were re-referred to appropriations or other committees by unanimous consent requests earlier in the session, and several bills on the daily file were deemed read with amendments deemed adopted. The Assembly also added multiple coauthors to concurrent resolutions and opened coauthor rolls where required by rule.
The clerk announced final tallies as recorded above. For items passed by roll call, the clerk closed the roll and read tallies aloud; for some measures the Assembly used voice votes after coauthors were added.
