Chair Lynn Lindblom called the Maricopa County Planning and Zoning Commission to order on July 10, 2025, and the commission nominated and voted to install Commissioner Millhaven as vice chair.
The nomination came after Chair Lindblom announced that Derek Rockwallak was joining the commission to replace Commissioner Curley. Commissioner Whitney nominated Commissioner Millhaven, saying, “I would nominate commissioner Milhavian.” Commissioner Millhaven replied, “I suppose.”
The commission then conducted a roll-call vote. Commissioners who verbally recorded a “yes” vote were Hernandez, Lawrence, Layton, Whitney and Rockwallak; Commissioner Millhaven stated he abstained when his name was called. The chair announced that the nomination was approved and congratulated Commissioner Millhaven.
The selection fills the vice-chair role vacated when Commissioner Curley left the commission. Commissioners did not discuss specific duties or a timeline for the vice chair transition during the public portion of the meeting.
The commission continued with its announced agenda after the vote.
