Board approves contracts, real estate purchases, personnel appointments and incentive pay in omnibus vote

The Southern Illinois University Board of Trustees on July 10 approved an omnibus motion that bundled dozens of agenda items ranging from vendor contracts and real‑estate purchases to personnel appointments and incentive compensation for senior leaders.

The omnibus package included: the appointment of Yvonne Thompson as executive director of audit for the SIU system; multiple procurement contracts including a 10‑year beverage and vending contract with Pepsi Mid America; a system technology licensing agreement for CourseDog; a multi‑year contract to support the Illinois WorkNet portal; trash and recycling services for SIU Edwardsville campuses; the purchase of several Springfield properties for the SIU School of Medicine; the removal of University Hall from the revenue bond system and reassignment to the College of Health and Human Sciences at SIUC; and incentive compensation awards for Chancellor Lane and President Mahoney.
