The Board of State Canvassers approved a de‑minimis change request June 27 authorizing replacement of a bracket that secures the motor inside ES&S tabulators used in several counties.
Bureau staff described the request as a de‑minimis change that does not affect the system’s certification, reliability or functionality and therefore does not require re‑certification by the federal EAC voting system test laboratory. Staff said the existing bracket is no longer manufactured and needs to be replaced where worn.
A motion to approve ECO‑1185 for use with the ES&S ExpressVote system was made, seconded and carried by the board.
The board recorded the motion as passed and moved to the next agenda item.
