The representative announced a Community Preservation Act workshop set for Aug. 6 at the Duggan School in Bethel from 6 to 8 p.m., and said municipal officials are invited to attend a supervisors briefing the same day.
The representative said the county created a web page with resources and a pre-application for landowners interested in conservation easements or purchase-of-development-rights programs and expects to mail postcards through the county ag board to inform farmers about upcoming state funding opportunities.
The office also said its beginner‑farmer mentorship program has relaunched after federal funding resumed. "We currently have 11 mentees in the program that have been paired up with 11 farmers in the county," the CCE representative said.
The extension asked county supervisors and staff to direct interested landowners to extension staff and its website; no formal county action was taken at the meeting.
