McGreen said the applicant was willing to continue the hearing to allow the board time to review the new material and to supply the outstanding sewer letter.
Board chair David Parente said the board takes each project seriously and that rushing a decision on voluminous newly submitted materials would put the town at risk. Parente told the gallery the board would continue the public hearing to Aug. 13 to allow members time to read the submissions and prepare questions. "The board takes this project very seriously, and we do want to give ourselves the time to review the information that is being presented to us so we can make the best informed decision possible for the town," Parente said.
Formal action: The board voted 4‑0 to continue the public hearing to the second Wednesday in August (Aug. 13, 2025). The motion to continue was made by Steve Potasse and seconded by Warren Riccitelli; the board recorded the ayes and continued the matter.
Next steps: Applicant to supply the outstanding Narragansett Bay Commission sewer letter for the larger building and any other documents requested in the board's checklist before the Aug. 13 hearing. The continuance leaves substantive review of site details and any remaining technical comments for the next meeting.
