Biosolids building at wastewater treatment plant: Public works reported that the south side of Phase 2 of the biosolids building has been fully demolished and excavation for foundations has begun. The report noted that soils encountered in Phase 2 are acceptable and do not require the remediation that was necessary on Phase 1; the presenter said this reduces the risk of added costs for that phase.
Street and water‑main work: Staff reported the First Street reconstruction and water‑main replacement is underway; about 1,800 feet of 4,000 feet of new water main has been installed, with storm sewer piping and underdrains in place. Crews will begin work on the pedestrian trail connecting Rolling Hills to 70 Fifth Avenue. Separately, the CCMG project on 70 Seventh Avenue (from US‑41 into Capri Drive) is set to start concrete milling and final paving, with staff hoping to complete that segment by Friday, July 18. Town staff said concrete work is complete and final paving and striping will follow after milling.
Town staff characterized the projects as moving forward on schedule. No new permits, budget approvals or council motions were requested at that time.
