Superintendent highlights AP pass rates, preschool accreditation and new mural

She reported that Maricopa High School posted strong Advanced Placement results: 70% overall AP pass rate with three courses — AP Research, AP Seminar and AP 2‑D Art and Design — each achieving 100% pass rates above state and global averages. At Desert Sunrise High School, she said AP pass rates continue to rise, citing 90% for AP European History and 78.6% for AP Government.
Dr. Lohmann noted 40 district teachers completed Spalding training this summer to strengthen reading and writing instruction and highlighted a new mural at Maricopa Wells created by local artist Veronica Leschinskaya. She also said the district’s community preschools earned national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children and that a new touchscreen kiosk in the district lobby displays construction project updates and drone footage courtesy of the Chase building team.
The superintendent framed these items as part of readiness for the coming school year and as evidence of district progress in early-childhood programming and college-preparatory coursework.
