The Downingtown Area School District board approved the consent agenda at its July 9 meeting, carrying motions for personnel, curriculum, facilities and finance items.
On personnel, the board approved an addendum to the nonunion support staff compensation plan, Act 93 staff salaries for the 2025'1026 fiscal year and nonunion support staff salaries for 2025'1026 (motions recorded as carried). The board approved multiple curriculum contracts and renewals, including a contract renewal with Abenburg Consulting to support behavioral needs (not to exceed $80,000), renewal of Scholastic Scope and Scholastic Starry Works for K'6 ($31,717.46), Wit & Wisdom digital teacher editions ($44,887.50), Turnitin for grades 7—2 ($30,000.55 and 99 cents as listed), and MackinVIA ($44,020). The board also approved purchase orders for replacement pottery wheels for East and West high schools ($56,550) and new kilns at four elementary schools ($26,450).
The board approved a behavioral health support contract with Devereux for $93,286, funded by a PCCD grant. On the finance side, the board approved purchase of a box truck for district and band/IT use ($114,883) and approved a contract with EverDriven for as-needed transportation services for displaced or special-needs students pending solicitor review. The EverDriven contract term is listed on the agenda as "08/04/2025 through 08/04/1928"; district staff said the contract is being presented as an as-needed arrangement and the date string in the agenda appears to be a typographical error that will be reviewed by the solicitor.
Facilities approvals included two change orders on the Beavercreek Elementary School expansion: change order EC-6 add to Hobbs & Company Inc. (electrical contractor) for relocation and demolition/refeed of a main distribution panel, total $29,003.61; and change order GC-07 add to Lobar Inc. (general contractor) for additional sidewalk, temporary stone driveway/walkway, code-required door/fire-pump-room work, repainting glazed tile walls, and temporary protections (amount not specified in the meeting record). Board members discussed the repainting of glazed tile at Beavercreek; a district representative said the repainting was owner-directed and was completed because the color originally chosen was not preferred and the tiles required encapsulation.
Each motion on the consent agenda was seconded and recorded as carried; roll-call vote tallies were not read into the meeting record for each line item in the transcript.
