Commissioners favored holding the event in spring (March or April) to avoid conflicts with graduation and spring bridal events; specific dates discussed included April 18 or April 19, conditional on school‑district calendars and spring break dates. Commissioners agreed to take a draft list of participating sites to the Landmark Commission for partnership and asked staff to coordinate with the Landmark Commission and the county superintendent on logistics, docent staffing and brochure production.
The commission also discussed connecting the event to existing walking‑tour resources and the proposed story map so families can use printed materials and digital content together. Commission members agreed to continue planning and to seek Landmark Commission input at its July 18 meeting.
