The Green River City Council approved several administrative and fiscal items at its July 8 regular meeting. Outcomes recorded on the record included adoption of an updated certified tax rate for 2025, approval of an event-supplies lease and rental policy with fees and deposits, adoption of a city branding guide, approval of a city agreement described on the record, and approval of the consent agenda.
Certified tax rate: The council adopted Resolution R04-2025, accepting the Utah State Tax Commissioncertified tax rate of 0.002706 for the 2025 fiscal year, down from 0.00283. Council members agreed to the resolution and a roll-call vote was taken; the record indicates the motion passed unanimously of those present.
Event-supplies lease/rental policy: The council approved a proposed lease/rental agreement and fee schedule for city-owned event supplies (equipment donated by the county). The published fees and deposit the council reviewed included a refundable deposit (about $100), tables at $15 per day, folding chairs at $2 per chair per day, two large 20x20 canopies at $400 per canopy per day, six smaller 10x20 canopies at $200 each per day, propane patio heaters at $50 per unit per day, and a PA system (eight tower speakers) at $200 per day. Staff said inventory is stored at the old firehouse and the PA system has its own trailer; the policy allows the city to charge for staff time to load and transport equipment and to require payment for damage beyond the deposit.
Branding guide: The council reviewed and adopted a city branding guide that standardizes logos, colors and fonts for letterhead, signage and promotional materials. Staff said the guide reflects a city seal previously adopted and will be provided to website designers and partner organizations for consistent use.
Other business and consent agenda: The council approved an item described on the record as "the city's agreement for preventing the debt" (motion and second recorded; the council voted in favor) and adopted the consent agenda, which included the May 2025 financial report, the July 2025 payment approval report, the June 2025 treasurer report and meeting minutes from May 13, 2025. The meeting adjourned at about 7:35 p.m.
All items above were approved by motion and recorded as passing at the July 8 meeting; the meeting record does not provide detailed named roll-call tallies for every vote beyond the council noting motions, seconds and that votes passed "unanimously of those here."
