Board approvals: street-lighting SAD, HydroCorp agreement, DPW fee schedule and batting cages purchase

Macomb Township trustees approved several consent and new-business items Wednesday, adopting routine and project contracts during a meeting that also featured an extended public discussion on trash service.
Among the votes:
- The board adopted a resolution establishing a street-lighting special assessment district for Beck Heritage Farms Site Condominium Phase 1. The district allows the township to pay DTE street-lighting bills and collect funds from the developer/residents in the subdivision.
- Trustees approved a five-year non-residential cross-connection program agreement with HydroCorp in the amount of $146,507.83. Township staff said the program is required by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE) and that the initial phase covers commercial properties; a residential program is being developed separately.
- The board approved an updated Department of Public Works fee schedule for non-water/sewer items (new meters, radio devices, new lines, etc.), noting fees are adjusted biennially to reflect inflation and material cost increases.
- Parks and Recreation staff were authorized to purchase six batting cages for Macomb Corners Park from JPO/JPRO Sports for $45,103.30 (material only); installation costs will be brought forward in a subsequent request.
Other routine actions included approval of the agenda with an added item concerning Priority Waste service, payment of the bill run and approval of prior meeting minutes, all by unanimous voice vote.
Ending: Board members said they would receive status updates on Priority Waste at the next meeting; the above votes were carried unanimously and recorded in the meeting minutes.
