At the April 4 meeting the Town of Lakeville Economic Development Committee unanimously approved the minutes from its March 7 meeting and set its next meeting for May 2 to finalize plans for the May 24 small-business workshop.
A motion to approve the March 7 minutes was made and seconded; the committee voted "Aye" and the motion carried. The committee later moved to adjourn and voted in favor.
In old business, a committee member said they will reach out to Steve Clancy, the broker for the Lakeville Hospital property, to ask whether he will agree to highlight the property in the Massachusetts Office of Business Development newsletter. The committee also discussed inviting Maria Marasco, regional director for the Massachusetts Office of Business Development that covers Lakeville, to a future meeting or to the May 24 workshop.
Committee members agreed to post an Economic Development Committee (EDC) event notice and to handle registration and promotional postings through the Chamber, Seed and other partners. No policy or spending decisions were taken in the committee meeting; the actions recorded were procedural (minutes approval and adjournment).
