Staff summarized accomplishments from the 2023–25 biennium (parks master plan adoption, homelessness response steps, the sidewalk reimbursement program, broadband study completion) and noted areas that remain active or are state‑mandated (land use code changes tied to recent state legislation and housing code updates). The commission discussed priorities and administrative next steps and asked staff to prepare a clearer, numbered tracking sheet so commissioners and the public can refer to each priority by identifier when asking for updates.
Commissioners also asked for earlier agenda scheduling on several operational matters: (1) downtown parking and short‑term options while development (and associated long‑term parking solutions) moves forward; staff noted kiosk and meter data will be available for 60‑day comparisons after the recent closure; (2) possible changes to the city seal and flag for consideration in 2026; and (3) additional updates on the Center Street decant/adjacent property issues and the Charter Park (promenade) property letters that will be noticed to property owners for public hearing.
Staff said they will prepare the requested numbering/one‑page reference and return with the broadband study briefing, housing/land‑use status (including pending state responses on variance exceptions), and prioritized CIP and parks items tied to the 2025–27 goals. No formal votes were taken on these housekeeping items; the commission provided direction for staff scheduling and follow up.
