Town board backs Clinton Historical Society’s exterior restoration grant application

Cynthia Cook, the society’s president, told the board the exterior masonry needs extensive repointing and the project could cost on the order of several hundred thousand dollars. The application would be a matching grant; the society had not finalized the match amount at the time of the meeting.
Supervisor Witten moved and the board approved a resolution authorizing the town supervisor to write a support letter for the historic society’s application. Cook said the society will supply a finalized budget to the town once contractors and estimates are complete.
