Lakeville Conservation Commission issues negative determinations for two tree removals, approves ORAD, and sets continuances

The Lakeville Conservation Commission handled several routine permit items and procedural matters at its July 8 meeting.
17 Pine Bluff (RDA): The commission opened and closed a public hearing on a Request for Determination of Applicability filed by Norma Anthony for tree and brush removal at 17 Pine Bluff (Assessor Map 65 Block 4 Lot 8). The commission issued a Negative 3 determination with conditions: no stump removal, no use of heavy equipment in or near the pond, and removal of any debris that falls into the water. The applicant self-reported the work and plans to hire an arborist to remove cut material.
129 State Shore Road (RDA): The commission opened and closed a public hearing on a Request for Determination of Applicability filed by a resident identified as Donna for removal of a diseased elm tree at 129 State Shore Road (Assessor Map 64 Block 3 Lot 13). The commission issued a Negative 3 determination with the same conditions: no stump removal, no heavy equipment near the drinking-water pond, and removal of any debris from the water. Commissioners advised timing the work for lower-water conditions and to avoid grinding or pulling stumps into the drinking-water body without advance coordination with the water department.
Off Myrick Street (ORAD): The commission reviewed a peer reviewer’s comments and voted to close the hearing and issue an Order of Resource Area Delineation (ORAD). The peer reviewer noted an intermittent stream feature that the commission asked to be listed in the ORAD documentation.
301 Pond Lane and other continuances: The commission granted a continuance for 301 Pond Lane to July 22, 2025 because peer-review calculations were incomplete. The enforcement matter at 52 Cliff Pond Road was continued to July 22 (see enforcement article). The commission also continued hearings for 28 Precinct Street and 160 Bedford Street to the commission’s next meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the police station.
