Board confirms Clarksburg Lighting District assessment for 2025–26 after public notice

The Yolo County Board of Supervisors on July 8 held a public hearing and voted to continue the levy of the Clarksburg Lighting District assessment for fiscal year 2025–26.
Gina Pavlova, county service areas manager, told the board the district includes 21 streetlights serving 173 parcels. A ballot proceeding in 2021–22 raised the annual fee from $22 to $35 and passed with approximately 71% approval; the assessment has increased modestly each year tied to the consumer price index. The department prepared an engineer’s report and the board published notice inviting public comment.
No members of the public submitted in-person comment at the hearing, Pavlova said. After briefly opening and closing the hearing, the board moved, seconded and approved the resolution to continue the assessment; staff said the approved assessment will be forwarded to the county auditor for inclusion on the tax roll.
Why it matters: The vote authorizes the ongoing per-parcel assessment that funds lighting in the Clarksburg community and preserves the district’s revenue stream for streetlight maintenance and operation.
