EDC approves contract revisions with Chickasha Industrial Authority; board requires spending approvals and deliverables

The contract also requires the EDC to provide the CIA with three documents within 30 days of the agreement: the strategic plan, the approved budget, and the purchasing policy. A council speaker confirmed the purchasing policy in place has not substantially changed and that the EDC will submit it to the CIA for approval at the August meeting. Members noted the prior contract lapsed June 30 and recommended scheduling to avoid future lapses; one participant said the current vote resolves the lapse that existed for the short period after June 30.
Why this matters: the changes are administrative and intended to improve oversight of CIA spending and alignment between the CIA and the EDC’s strategic documents. Council members framed the spending-approval requirement as an optics and oversight correction following questions about spending that occurred before board review.
