"The softball, at Spain Park and baseball in the fall, somewhere around late September or early October," Wilson said. He added that the football lights are scheduled and that final details will be refined as the project approaches procurement and installation.
District staff said the lights themselves were purchased earlier at a combined cost of $632,900 and that architectural fees totaled $61,242.46. The installation bid keeps the project within an overall budget of $990,000; staff reported a total project cost of $936,134.66. The district will fund the work from its reserves.
Board members approved the motion by voice vote.
Staff listed a $30,000 contingency in the awarded amount to cover unforeseen costs; the motion noted no changes to the funding source. Follow-up tasks recorded by staff include finalizing the installation schedule and issuing the construction contract to Armstrong Electrical Contractors.
