The Koochiching County Board of Commissioners on July 8 approved its agenda and minutes, ratified routine financial reports and claims, and voted to carry a number of staff and licensing requests.
The board voted to: approve the agenda as presented; approve minutes from the June 24, 2025 regular meeting; accept June payroll and ACH debit payments, courthouse claims and other vendor claims; void a lost warrant (affidavit on file); ratify payment of second-half 2025 budget allocations totaling $171,245.56; and approve the April–June paid invoice vendor report. The board also approved a short-term off-sale intoxicating liquor and tobacco license for M.S. Stores LLC (doing business as Snack Attack) for 07/16/2025–12/31/2025 and granted an LG220 exempt gambling permit for Whitetails Unlimited for a raffle to be held 10/11/2025 at Burchdale Community Center.
Commissioners also authorized several contract and labor-ratification items (see separate article on labor agreements), and approved routine personnel separations with backfill authority for two county positions: Deb Larson, full‑time public health nurse (retirement effective Sept. 3), and Mary Filson, full‑time child support enforcement officer (separation effective July 2). The board approved a warrant void in the amount stated in the agenda (affidavit on file) and ratified payments and claims as presented.
