On the roofing project, staff requested approval to award the reroof contract on the north section of the Parks & Forestry workshop to Higher Ground Roofing, low bidder at $43,142, with an approximately 4% contingency (the project is a 2025 capital budget item with a total budget of $45,000). Staff said five bids were received and that Higher Ground Roofing has performed several prior projects for the city. The committee approved awarding the contract; aldermen voted aye and the motion carried.
Staff said the reroof work covers only the north metal roof section, not the workshop's flat roof, and that contingency and budget numbers were included in the 2025 capital budget.
