Board clears consent agenda including personnel items and several vendor purchases

The Hancock County Board of Education approved its consent agenda, which included personnel recommendations and acceptance of the lowest quotes for several purchases and a facility study.

Staff listed personnel items including employment recommendations for teachers for the 2025–26 school year and a transfer of a special-education teacher to a district teaching position at Hancock Middle School for 2025–26. The agenda packet also included vendor recommendations: a purchase for "pay loan rates and service" for Hancock A school for $6,696; phone-system support from DCI for Hancock County at $8,784.07; Fastlane Analytics plus annual license at $20,105; and a strategic facility analysis and organization study by Academic Program Management LLC at $23,000. Staff identified one deletion (item 10) and said the wording of item 44 would be changed to clarify that maintenance employees who perform HVAC services and mechanical work would be covered for the 2025–26 school year.

A board member moved to accept the changes and the consent items; the motion carried.

Staff said the additions and deletions will be reflected in the posted agenda and that detailed personnel paperwork would be placed on file. The board did not alter the vendor recommendations but approved acceptance of the lowest quotes as presented.

The facilities assessment by Academic Program Management LLC was listed as an added agenda item; Bailey Architectural was mentioned elsewhere as a firm the district contacted for facility planning and is included separately on the agenda for assessment work.
