Road Superintendent Kevin MacReady reported the county received two bids and that the low proposal from AgPro was $180,495.23. Commissioners moved and seconded to accept the low bid; the clerk recorded affirmative votes from commissioners present and the motion passed.
During the discussion, the commissioners and staff described the mower as a tractor with a 22-foot side-arm attachment designed to reach areas beyond standard mowers. One commissioner noted the mowing attachment is complex and can cost nearly as much as the tractor itself; MacReady and other staff said it's intended to improve maintenance on remote right-of-way areas and to reduce the need for expensive manual trimming.
The county described the purchase as previously approved to be funded from ARP money and said the equipment has been on the books for some time. The commission did not discuss delivery timelines at the meeting.
