Town to migrate website and email to townofbluffutah.gov, switch meeting platform to Zoom

Town IT staff told the Planning and Zoning Commission on July 3 that the town website and email will move to a dot‑gov domain and that new email addresses will be active July 11.
Sam, who is managing the transition, said the new site is townofbluffutah.gov and that the old domain will redirect to the new site. "If you go to the old domain... it'll just redirect you straight to the... new domain," Sam said. New email addresses will use the new domain; existing mail sent to old addresses will forward to the new addresses.
IT staff also said the town intends to switch meeting hosting from Google Meets to Zoom to allow finer host controls and better screen sharing, and to migrate files from Google Drive to Microsoft OneDrive. The team plans to create new usernames tied to the new town email addresses and will coordinate a cutover date with commission leadership.
Why it matters: the changes affect how commissioners receive official notices, how members log in to town systems, and how the public accesses forms and meeting links. IT staff asked commissioners to use the new town email address on public forms once the migration completes.
