Commission approves routine consent items, property deed transfer and several board appointments

In a series of routine votes the Board of Churchill County Commissioners approved multiple consent and new-business items.
Routine approvals included adoption of Resolution 8-2025 declaring certain Sheriff’s Office equipment surplus and authorizing disposal, and ratification of a no-cost extension for the county’s Medicaid technical-assistance contract with CSH to Aug. 31, 2025. The board also approved a salon lease between Churchill County Social Services and Sandra Burrell for one beauty-shop station at the William and Pennington Life Center at $400 per month.
A deed transfer conveying real property at 170 Southeast Street (APN 001-545-03) to the City of Fallon was approved; county staff described the action as a cleanup to effectuate an earlier property exchange. Commissioners also appointed Chris Spross to replace Jim Barbee on multiple regional boards effective July 7, 2025.
The board adopted Resolution 9-2025 to assign an additional 1¢ of the ad valorem levy to cooperative extension (bringing that levy portion to 2¢) and adopted Resolution 10-2025 certifying Churchill County’s combined tax rate for FY2025–26. The required publication of a summary fiscal report was noted in the record as having been published before July 1.
Reappointments approved included Carla Pomeroy to the TDR Sending Site Review Committee (term through 06/30/2028), Jason Sibley to the county advisory board to manage wildlife (term 07/01/2025–06/30/2028), and reappointments to the Parks and Recreation Commission of Ava Case, Gary Amiley and Bob Franke (terms through 06/30/2029). The consent agenda passed by motion.
