Midway City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda, which included routine minutes and warrants, two final-approval extensions for the Farmstead Off Midway Density Reduction Subdivision, a resolution adopting the city’s certified property tax rate for 2025, and authorization to use Midway open-space bond funds for property at approximately 900 West Bigler Lane.
Council member (motion-maker not on record) moved approval of consent items a through h; the motion was seconded and carried by recorded ayes from Council members Kevin, JC, Lisa and Craig. During discussion staff explained the certified property tax rate is adjusted annually to be revenue neutral except for new growth — as property valuations rise, rates decline to maintain revenue neutrality.
The consent agenda also included a change in a previously approved extension (dates listed in staff materials) for the Farmstead off Midway Density Reduction Subdivision at 101 West 100 South and an extension related to a lending property connected to open-space bond fund use; staff answered follow-up questions about those items before the vote.
Ending: With the consent agenda approved the council moved to the public-comment period and department reports.
