Monroe-Woodbury board elects Dawn Talbot president, Caitlin Simmons vice president; oaths administered

Dawn Talbot was elected president of the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District Board of Education for the 2025–26 school year at the district's July 1 annual organizational meeting. Board members then elected Caitlin Simmons as vice president.
The board opened the meeting by administering the oath of office to newly elected and re-elected trustees (Dulea Santacole, Jeffrey Reynolds and Suzanne Donio) and to Superintendent Tracy Norman. Following the oaths, the board conducted officer nominations and votes: a motion nominating Talbot was seconded and approved by voice vote; a subsequent motion formally electing Dawn Talbot as board president carried. The board later moved to elect Caitlin Simmons as vice president; that motion also carried on a voice vote.
The board also approved the swearing-in or appointment of a pro tem district clerk and a student board representative, and confirmed a slate of routine appointments (special education and impartial hearing officers, official depositories for district funds and other administrative authorizations) as part of the organizational agenda.
Those appointments and the oath-administering ceremonies concluded the organizational portion of the meeting and the board convened into its regular session.
