Representatives of the Imperial Valley Healthcare District (IVHD) told the Brawley City Council on July 1 that the asset transfer agreement for Pioneers Memorial Hospital is nearly complete and that El Centro Regional Medical Center’s (ECRMC) board is scheduled to consider the transfer on July 15.
Chris Bjornberg, speaking for IVHD, said IVHD’s board and ECRMC have approved the asset transfer agreement and staff are finishing regulatory paperwork and licensing changes. Pharmacy, lab services and some licenses already transferred, Bjornberg said; the remaining clinic licensing steps are under review with state and federal agencies.
