Staff said the pro rata amount would be returned to the county if the condo is later sold.
Commissioners said the purchase had already been vetted with county legal counsel and the board previously voted to support KMPO’s acquisition; the payment is being processed through normal channels. Commissioners described the space as small — about two rooms with a small break room — and said the purchase was intended to avoid long-term escalation clauses that staff said were common in comparable leases.
A commissioner corrected an earlier misstated total for the condo cost and said the precise figure would be provided once the property sale settles. No further action was taken beyond authorizing payment processing.
