Multiple residents and community organizations used the council’s public-comment period to announce events and raise local concerns.
Gary Genovese, representing We Care for Animals, described a trap-neuter-release fundraiser scheduled for Sunday, July 13, at the Mojave Steakhouse; the event charges $15 with raffle prizes and proceeds to support the group’s TNR work. Genovese said the program traps, vaccinates and returns feral cats rather than euthanizing them.
Captain John Bursch of the Salvation Army outlined the organization’s summer camping ministry. He said the division’s camps serve local youth who may not otherwise travel beyond Bullhead City and that recent trips included children seeing pine forests near Flagstaff and attending teen and music/fine-arts camps.
Teresa Becker, a Holiday Shores resident, told council that she is concerned planned changes would close public access to the nearby river and that losing access would depress property values. Becker said her family uses a walking route two blocks from the river and suggested the city consider a local key-card gate for Holiday Shores residents to preserve access.
Pamela Smith publicized an annual Republican picnic and related fundraising activities, and Janice Johnston announced that PFLAG has established a Bullhead City chapter and will host an introductory meet-and-greet in coming weeks.
Council members acknowledged the announcements; no formal council action on these items occurred during the meeting.
