The Board adopted two ceremonial proclamations during its July 1 meeting.
The first proclamation recognized the Indian River Mosquito Control District’s 100th anniversary (established 1925). County leaders praised the district’s work protecting public health and acknowledged the district’s staff and executive director as they accepted the proclamation.
The second proclamation designated July 19–27, 2025, as Treasure Coast Waterway Cleanup Week in Indian River County and recognized the Marine Industry Inland Navigation District and community volunteers for their ongoing annual cleanup work. Speakers noted the 18th annual cleanup event (scheduled July 26, 2025), the participation of more than 1,100 volunteers across 25 cleanup sites on the Treasure Coast, and long‑term reductions in the tonnage of trash collected per event.
Both proclamations were adopted by unanimous voice vote on the consent/ceremonial portion of the agenda.
