The presiding official said, "This is a ministerial act, that we have to take in accordance with state regulations," and noted the budget "was presented at the public hearing" 21 days earlier and that the town had met advertising requirements. The presiding official then asked for a motion: "All we need is a motion to approve the Unified budget ordinance for FY26 as presented." A motion was made and seconded; Councilor Perry was identified as the seconder. When the presiding official asked, "All in favor?" there were no opposing votes, and the presiding official declared the ordinance adopted.
There was no substantive discussion recorded on the ordinance during the meeting. After the vote the council moved to adjourn; the presiding official closed the special meeting.
Attendance recorded at the start of the meeting showed Councilor Camitto, Councilor Janek, Councilor Edwards and Councilor Perry present. Councilor Burke was absent at roll call but reportedly texted he expected to arrive; Councilors Dimadiras and Paul were absent.
