Onslow County Public Library nears 1,500 summer-reading goal; storyteller performances scheduled

Onslow County Public Library said it has 1,001 summer-reading registrants and seeks to sign up 1,500. The library announced bilingual musical storyteller Luke Vandergriff will perform July 16–17 at four branches; Swansboro requires pre-registration.
Tori Parks of the Onslow County Public Library said the library's summer-reading program had registered 1,001 participants and that the system's goal is 1,500.
"If you go into any of our branches and you see our lovely newsletter, in the back, there is a QR code that they can scan, and it will take them directly to sign up to level up at your library for our summer reading program," Parks said. For online sign-up she directed residents to 0cpl.readsquared.com.
Parks said musical storyteller Luke Vandergriff will perform on July 16 at the Jacksonville branch at 10 a.m. and the Swansboro branch at 3 p.m., and on July 17 at the Sneads Ferry branch at 10 a.m. and the Richlands branch at 3 p.m. She said registration is required only for the Swansboro program due to space limits.
The library promotes programs and news on its newsletter, Facebook page and website; Parks said all branches are offering events and prizes as part of summer reading.
