Commissioners introduce new recreation director; commissioners report positive animal-control inspection

Greene County commissioners introduced Malcolm Dawson as the county's new recreation director. Dawson, who had been serving in an interim role, was selected by an interview panel and formally introduced to the board; he thanked the board and said the position was "a dream come true." He will move from an interim to a full-time role leading the county’s recreation department.
In commission reports, a commissioner noted a recent inspection of the county animal-control facility found it clean, odor-free and that animals appeared healthy; the commissioner praised facility staff for improvements since earlier concerns roughly a year and a half prior.
The chairman also announced a community "God and Country" service on July 13 at Mount Calvary Church in Hookerton as part of routine commission announcements. No formal board action was taken on personnel matters at the meeting beyond the public introduction.
