Middletown opens bids for multiple city contracts; referrals made to Commissioner of Public Works

Val Bruni was the only bidder recorded for HVAC, with a regular rate of $1.25 per hour, overtime $1.875 and Sundays/holidays $2.50 per hour, and an overtime emergency-dispatch fee of $135 per technician.
For electrical work the board recorded bids from Ray Pantel (regular $1.02 per hour, overtime $1.40, holidays/Sundays $1.50; bucket-truck $45/hour), Harry Rotolo (regular $0.92/hour, overtime $1.30, holiday/double-time notation $1.55; bucket-truck $50/hour, maximum $200/day), and Powergen Electric (regular $1.215/hour, holiday/after-hours $1.8225/hour, Sundays/holidays $2.43/hour; bucket truck $86/hour and requires a second technician).
On disposal of construction-and-demolition debris the meeting recorded a bid from Taylor Montgomery LLC proposing $135 per ton at the bidder’s transfer station; the bid also included pricing for 30‑cubic‑yard containers and an initial 30‑day monthly rental period, with an additional monthly rental fee thereafter. Metal/appliance disposal bids included offers from Teplitz ($131 paid to the City per ton, unloading within city limits), Sims Metal Management ($150 net per ton, unloading location 4 miles from the city) and Sunny Zito Recycling ($1.40 per ton, unloading location 9 miles from the city).
