Board awards Mosaic elevator contract to Lawler Corporation for $2.443 million

The Mehlville R-IX School District Board of Education approved awarding the Mosaic elevator contract to Lawler Corporation on June 26.
Marshall Crutcher, the district’s chief financial officer, told the board the district received nine bids and that Lawler Corporation was the low bidder with a base bid of $2,000,000.27. Including professional fees and contingency, Crutcher said the grand total comes to $2,443,073, and the district is asking to begin work in July with a goal of completing the project in summer 2026.
Crutcher said additional project details and bid documents were posted to eBoards and that the facilities department had already answered questions from the public there. The board voted to approve “the lowest qualified bid by Lawler Corporation in the amount of $2,443,073.” The motion passed unanimously, 7–0.
Board members and staff discussed the Mosaic elevator work in the context of the district’s Prop S capital program; Crutcher later reviewed the broader Prop S update and summer projects, which he said total roughly $33.3 million spent to date against a roughly $37 million GO bond.
Crutcher indicated the Mosaic phase 2 work is now the primary near-term focus for Prop S scheduling.
