Wellington ARB approves site-amenities changes for Lotus Wellington phases 1 and 2

Wellington Architectural Review Board members approved amended and new site amenities for the Lotus Wellington mixed-use development during their June 25 meeting, approving changes for Lotus Wellington Phase 1 and granting site-amenity approval for Lotus Wellington Phase 2.

The approvals cover material and design changes to benches, trash receptacles, bike racks and shade/trellis structures; removal of swings from trellis features; installation of playground and dog‑park equipment; and educational signage and viewing areas for two Cypress Preserve wetlands on the project site. Damien Newell, Plan and Zoning Division staff, told the board that site amenities “are required to be compatible with the architectural style, design, colors and materials with the overall project.”

The board heard a presentation from the applicant team and staff detailing the alterations. Lotus Wellington Phase 1 covers about 64 acres north of the Forest Hill Boulevard and State Road 7 intersection; Lotus Wellington Phase 2 is roughly 52 acres directly north of Phase 1 on the west side of State Road 7. The Phase 1 property is divided into sub-phases labeled 1A–1E; the applicant said the first phase of amenities is scheduled for installation this summer in the commercial area known as the Square at Lotus Wellington.
