Thousand Oaks traffic commission votes to cancel July and August meetings; next regular meeting set for Sept. 24

At the June 25 meeting, the Traffic and Transportation Advisory Commission voted 4-0 to cancel its regular meetings in July and August and set the next regularly scheduled meeting for Sept. 24, 2025.
A commissioner moved the cancellation and asked staff to take the vote; Miss Vasquez, the commission clerk, recorded the roll-call vote. Vice Chair Emmell voted yes; Commissioner Guetta voted yes; Commissioner Selm voted yes; Commissioner Weichel voted yes. Chair Callahan was absent. The clerk announced the motion carried 4 to 0 with Chair Callahan absent.
Commissioners discussed the rationale during the meeting. Staff and several commissioners said the city’s commissions often pause meetings in summer and that agenda items are being bundled so meetings occur when there is substantive business to discuss. Commissioners also asked staff to revisit scheduling so items that are ready can be presented without undue delay.
The motion was procedural and did not change commission authorities or policy; it set the commission calendar through September.
