Planning Commission denies land‑use change request for 13790 Hudson Road

The Planning Commission on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, voted to deny a resolution to amend the North Sector Plan for the property at 13790 Hudson Road, rejecting a requested Suburban Category 1 designation that the applicant said would allow commercial and residential uses.

The denial matters because the requested designation would have changed the plan’s guidance for the parcel and could have allowed outdoor storage and mixed commercial-residential uses; planning staff recommended denial and told commissioners the applicant may instead seek a zoning amendment or ask the city council to review the request.

The commission recorded unanimous affirmative votes: Commissioner Profit, Commissioner Mailem, Commissioner Sánchez, Commissioner García, Commissioner Dusuki, Commissioner López, Commissioner Oilet, and President Peck. The motion carried and the amendment was denied.
