Johnny Murdock spoke during the public-comment period about hazardous street conditions and localized flooding. Murdock identified specific locations including Green Hill, Anderson Street and areas near Greenville Cemetery where a missing lip on a curve can drop vehicles and create safety concerns at night. He also described potholes on Anderson Street and flooding at the rear of a home following recent repair work on Joe Lewis and Steele Street.
Murdock provided photographs to illustrate the flooding and asked staff to follow up. Town Manager Carrie Vargo and public-works supervisor Eric Burns said they would ensure crews receive the pictures and follow up. Staff told Murdock that utilities had been located and repairs were scheduled; if those repairs were not completed before the meeting, staff pledged to address the problem despite weather-related delays.
Council thanked the resident for bringing the concerns forward and staff committed to follow-up, including review by crew supervisors and further repairs where necessary.
