Applicant withdraws 90 School Street development; will resubmit reduced plan

The Quincy Planning Board on June 25 accepted a withdrawal without prejudice for the continued public hearing on 90 School Street (Planning Board case 2020-51) after the applicant told the board it would file a redesigned plan.
Attorney Michael Harrington told the board the project team concluded the existing proposal lacked enough support to pass and will submit a smaller building with fewer units and increased yard setbacks. Harrington said the team will also address outstanding site concerns before returning to the board.
Board members raised outstanding technical issues they want addressed when the applicant returns, including a front setback and a utility pole in the right-of-way, and one member reminded the applicant to secure any MBTA approvals if the property falls within the MBTA influence area.
The chair asked for a motion to accept the withdrawal. A motion was made and seconded and the board voted in favor.
The withdrawal is formally “without prejudice,” meaning the applicant may refile. Harrington said the applicant has already provided plans to the MBTA for review of the earlier proposal and that the revised plans should have fewer MBTA-related impacts.
The board did not act on any new plan at the meeting.
